Cranial Base Release
Our heads and necks are often centers of massive energy and tension buildup. I often utilize a technique known as Cranial Base Release at or near the beginning of a session to encourage relaxation. The more relaxed you are at the beginning of your therapeutic massage the more effective and lasting will be your experience. The technique involves cupping my fingers in a supportive bridge at the base of your skull under the occipital ridge, and slowly and gently manipulating the area until the tension releases. This technique is one of the special modalities that make for a unique and rewarding experience at ZenDana Massage of Albuquerque.
